Post Match Love

As we mentioned in last night’s live blog, the crowd in Chicago for the 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago was loud and passionate. We’ll have more on the match itself later, but in the meantime, here’s a video of the post-match celebration put up on to Youtube by “sknowbird”. His/her words: “On the eve of 911 the victorious US men’s soccer squad salute the fans @ Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.”

Granted, it’s not terribly exciting and the camera work might make you slightly nauseous, but it’s nice to see the players hang around to show their appreciation for the boisterous support they enjoyed throughout the entire match.

I liked the fact that the crowd chanted through the entire second half. I don’t remember a crowd for a USMNT game doing that ever before…unless you count the opponents fan chanting for our opponent.

Either way I think it was a great environment and it’s cool to see the popularity increasing…even if it is a very slow increase.
