Remember, Uh, Remember When The US Beat T&T 3-0? Yeah, That Was Awesome

September 30th, 2008 | By: Brooks Peck | 13 Comments »

It was exactly three weeks ago tomorrow (or today, if you’re reading this on Wednesday…or several days in the past if you’re reading this several days in the future, in which case I ask: Does the country still exist in your time?) that the US MNT defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3-0, putting on their most impressive display so far in these here World Cup Qualifiers.

In case you forgot just how lovely that performance was, here’s a reminder — and it’s even in Español! Aye Papi!

Or if you prefer to reminisce with nothing but text* and your own perverse imagination, take a look back at our live blog of the match.

*Expertly written text, but still text, nonetheless.

That was like watching an episode of Lost, I need to sleep on it.

Paul: Thank yu Chris.

Chris: Hey Paul. Remember, remember that time, when you snuck into Steven Gerrard’s house, and, and even though you have more money than that Queen you stole his Champion’s League winners medal, cuz, that’s what you dirty skousers do?

Paul: Yes Chris, I rememba.

Chris:……..that was awesome.

Brooks, I also remember the time he and Ringo stole Jamie Carragher’s 30th Birthday cake, and held it hostage while demanding that Yank owners Hicks and Gillette sell the team to the fans for what I thought to be a very fair price of 400 million hubcaps. Can’t believe they didn’t jump at that one.

You remember when you did that album? Ummmm Abbey Road…
Paul: Yes
And you play the record backwards and it said Paul is dead…
Paul: (nods)
Was that true?
Paul: Well I wasn’t really dead
I’m sooo stupid! IDIOT!!!

CW: Silly scousers…

Marlon: …and the time you got shut down by SwissJan? (oh snap!)

Kyle: I debated whether I should include the clip in the post…I think I made the wrong choice.

I’m sure we all have the Best of Chis Farley DVD and we’ve all watched it a million times so don’t worry Brooks. Probably my favorite of all his sketches second would be the motivational speaker and third Schmitts Gay with Adam Sandler was hilarious.

I worked for the Denver Post, but I’m back at school now. You’ll forgive me if I forget the “s” while I’m at the library. I was in a real hurry of not letting the girl next to me notice I was having an argument with a fucking Swiss dude about rap music.

Haha no worries, Marlon…when you worked at the Denver Post did you ever have the urge to beat Woody Paige with a rusty pipe? Because I often do and I’ve never even met the guy.

Every time I was behind him I had to try very hard to repress the urge to giggle. I often failed.
