I think when it comes to Freddy Adu its not so much of a question of IF he can start, it is obvious he can. The question is, does he HAVE to start?
Obvious his stock went up but I dont think it is quite time to unleash him yet. He should continue as a sub until his work on the defensive side of the ball improves.

EJ's stat line does not emphasize the extent in how far his stock fell. In fact, the stats are entirely irrelevant. He looked unconfident with the ball at his feet and consistently took himself into difficult positions and shooting angles. It is painful to think of the confidence he once inspired in me as an attacking option. As far as I am concerned, his career as a starting US striker should be over.

Twellman and Jozy should be out there in my opinion and in the meantime its frustrating not scoring. It can't get worse there.

Heres the biggest question thats been bugging me for a LONG LONG time. Why no Twelbman why no Jozy...these are the quality players that will carry this team in the future.

Also I agree w/ Ramiro- the entire defense looks slow and confused.

You could say that the entire U.S. defense is down. More so than Bocanegra, Gooch has repeatedly shown he does not belong on the world level. He is often out of position and shows poor instincts as a defender. Allowing Xavi to go right by him in the Spain game when Xavi scored is just one of many mistakes he makes.

And please, no more Eddie Johnson. And move Clint Dempsey back to midfield where he belongs.
