USA vs. Mexico WCQ Live Blogtastic Throwdown

February 11th, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 10 Comments »

Join us for what should be a fantastic, exciting, explosion of North American madness. And that’s just Michael Bradley’s pregame warmup. There’s also a Clasico!

You should know how our live blogs work by now, so I won’t bore you with the details. But one thing to keep in mind this time around — playful ribbing will be more than welcome, but hate speech from either side will not. If you want to shout irrational bile during this match about anything other than Brian Ching and his nose bleeds, I suggest you do it somewhere else, because I won’t be having it.

Also, Mexico fans — we would love to have you join us, but just remember that this is the USA blog and we will be covering the match with an obvious bias. Please don’t come here looking for a fight.

I just want to point out that my joke a few days back was entirely based on being drunk and not understanding the word “gringo”. I am not a racist person and love Mexico and its people (except Giovanni Dos Santos…eff him). Plus Carlos Mencia makes racism ok…right guys? no? Ok…point taken.

elle: It’s already begun. It knows its almost match time.

BMatt: I know you didn’t mean it in a malicious manner, I just didn’t want it to escalate from there. Don’t worry about it.

I like how this pic captures EJ’s face and the utter shock/disbelief of that attempted takeout.

So how quickly was Sven on the phone with the people at Portsmouth? I am imagining as soon as he was out of sight of a camera?
Sooner?

Team USA has a very good team right now. Bradley is a very inteligent coach and I think the US will end up first.
