USA vs. Honduras (2 - 1) Post-Game Thoughts

June 7th, 2009 | By: Marlon | 25 Comments »

A confession. I was happier when the team was losing. I could feel the end of Bob Bradley. I could feel it. I was smiling. Every US fan around me was tense and panicky and all I could do was laugh. Laugh at it all. Then we stormed back with two goals. Two goals we [...]

FIRE BOB BRADLEY

June 6th, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 54 Comments »

The US beat Honduras 2-1, but the only role Bob Bradley played in that victory was as a handicap.
When the US lost to Costa Rica on Wednesday in part because of Bob Bradley poor tactics, in part because of poor preparation, and in part because Costa Rica were simply the better team that night, [...]

Miss USA and Miss Honduras Present: Brooks’ Half-Assed World Cup Qualifier Preview

June 5th, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 22 Comments »

Alright, Marlon already gave his thoughts on that crapfest in Costa Rica, so here’s mine:

Moving on…this Saturday night matchup against Honduras shouldn’t be nearly as soul crushing. First of all, the game is in Chicago, so the US MNT won’t be scared to death by the riotous locals. Secondly, this game isn’t against Costa Rica [...]

Practice Makes Perfect

May 31st, 2009 | By: Marlon | 1 Comment »

Things to note from this video of the USMNT practice in Miami:
1. Clint Dempsey looks so much smoother on the ball then the rest of his teammates combined.
2. Charlie Davies skins poor Jonathan Spector about three different times.
3. Little Bradley gets to play all time offense.
4. A lot of the team still hasn’t arrived.

Thoughts on when you’ve got yourself a keeper

April 20th, 2009 | By: Marlon | 11 Comments »

It’s never a good thing when your best player is your keeper. Maybe that’s just an opinion I hold.
Congratulations to Tim Howard and Everton for their glorious FA Cup semi-final victory. Howard will receive a lot of deserved praise after his two saves in the penalty shootout, and for a few moments the international [...]

Dempsey’s Doin’ It

February 25th, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 1 Comment »

Not in the LL Cool J way, but, you know…scoring goals. He did it again — this time in Fulham’s 2-1 FA Cup replay win over Swansea City, scoring late to pull his side even, before Bobby Zamora sealed the win just four minutes later.
That gives Clint five goals on the season and four [...]

Optimism in ‘09

January 11th, 2009 | By: Carter Daly | No Comments »

Welcome to the New Year! (Brooks note: apparently Carter has been in a alcohol induced coma for the last week and a half…which is only surprising because they usually last longer for him. Zing!)
For those of you keeping an eye on our Yanks Abroad, your probably thinking it’s about time for a new beginning of [...]

Transfer Hot Stove: Parkhurst to Norway, Offers Coming for Wynne and Kljestean?

December 9th, 2008 | By: Carter Daly | 1 Comment »

Welcome again to this ever-revolving merry-go-round of transfer rumors that I now write in this thing called the Hot Stove.
Today we chronicle three of our younger MLS yanks who look primed to move abroad in the coming January transfer window.
One of them, according to this report, is all ready to be signed sealed and delivered [...]

Transfer Hot Stove: Colonization of ‘Gladbach? Marshall to Germany Too?

December 8th, 2008 | By: Carter Daly | 8 Comments »

Even in only the second week of December, the January transfer window talk is already starting to heat up. And it all seems to be coming from the same place: Germany.
While we already have one Yank, Landon Donovan, on loan (and possibly signing?) in Deutschland with Bundesliga super club Bayern Munich, others could be [...]
