United States U17’s Demolishes Cuba 5 – 0

April 22nd, 2009 | By: Marlon | 3 Comments »

The nice people running CONCACAF has hosted the entire game on Youtube in two halves. Without too much analysis I’ll say that I was impressed John McInerney, Stefan Jerome, and my new favorite namesake Marlon Duran (the kid reminds me of a little Javier Mascherano). Enjoy folks.

“I was just like, no way!”

It seems like only a month ago (wait – I think it actually was) when our U-20 women won their World Cup down in Chile and various footie fans around the world found themselves a new favorite player. Well, now our U-23s are in camp and beginning preparations for July’s Nordic Cup competition. [...]

December 7th, 2008 | By: Melissa | 17 Comments »

Did you just watch the U-20 Women’s World Cup final on ESPN today? Cause I dunno who the announcer was but that guy certainly had his panties in a bunch all over Alex Morgan. During the first half, he flat out said she was the best player on the US side. [...]

I can’t handle this truth

November 23rd, 2008 | By: Melissa | No Comments »

I haven’t even had time to process and move on from the crushing loss when we faced North Korea in the U-17 Women’s World Cup before the U-20 Women’s World Cup got into full swing down in Chile. And the US of A already made it to the quarterfinals after they destroyed Argentina [...]

We Lost

Congrats go to North Korea who beat the US 2-1 in overtime to win the first ever U-17 Women’s World Cup. And apparently the game was a real nail biter. From the match report at American Soccer News:

The USA took an early lead on a strange goal in just the second minute [...]

Of Nationalities and National Teams

November 15th, 2008 | By: Melissa | 5 Comments »

I’m sure you all recall the crushing blow the US faced when that guy decided he’d rather reject his New Jersey roots and instead pretend his Italian parents never ever moved to the US in the first place. And now, I guess that other guy is gonna throw his hat in the ring for [...]
