Glasgow is the place to be…or not

Sacha Kljestan has officially left the US MNT training camp to workout with Celtic for a week in Glasgow (he just arrived there today). All in all this sounds like a fantastic opportunity for Sacha and I think it could be the next great step in his career if he impresses the Scottish giants this week.
Plus, that Kljestan Celtic shirt is going to look really god on me.
Meanwhile, also in Glasgow, DaMarcus Beasley could be on his way out at Rangers as the club is looking to make widespread changes in an effort to cut £4 million and get their finances in order. DaMarcus still isn’t getting solid playing time, which is probably what has him doubting his future with the club more than anything else. Says Beaz:
“I love being here. I love the club and I’m hopeful I can get back in and play my part in the team.
“I don’t have any desire to go somewhere else because I’m happy here and I don’t intend to leave unless someone tells me I have to.
“At the same time, I know my future is something I’ve got to think about because I’ve got a lot of things going on with the United States national team.
“We’ve got World Cup qualifiers coming up and the Confederations Cup in South Africa this summer. I want to be involved in all of that.
“I know for that to happen I need to be playing football so hopefully over the next couple of weeks things can improve for me. [...]
“Leaving that behind would be difficult but I know I’ve got to look out for myself first and foremost. If I’m not playing here, I should move on.”
And with Rangers’ money saving efforts appearing to be serious right now, he might have to move on, and frankly, his personal comforts aside, it looks like it would be for the best for his game, too. Also, how bout the love for the MNT in the above quote? Sounds like a country before club mentality for Beasley, and that’s a seemingly rare thing these days.
