GOOOAAALLL for Jozy

November 1st, 2008 | By: Brooks Peck | 5 Comments »

Jozy Altidore came on in the 89th minute of Villareal’s match against Athletic Bilbao and promptly scored his first league goal. Villareal was already up 3-1 at the time, but still — awesome for Jozy. A grainy video of his entire appearance (he comes into the match at the 2:00 mark) can be seen here.

UPDATE: Here’s the video cut down to just him coming into the match and scoring his goal almost immediately…

That’s real sick and I’m stoked that he got a league goal. However, I’m curious what the heck happened mid week in the cup game?!?! Villarreal got smoked 5-0…did Jozy start?? and wtf happened??

He did start the midweek game though I was unable to locate any highlights for it. He scored after about 20-30 seconds after coming in the game. This is a great thing for Jozy. http://watchsocceronline.blogspot.com/

Too bad Ray Hudson wasn’t announcing this game.
