It’s finally coming together for Jozy

August 23rd, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 8 Comments »

Forget about that nonsense in Spain last season — the lack of playing time with Villarreal, the loan to Xerez, the injury, and the subsequent iffy form with the US MNT — everything is finally falling into place for Jozy Altidore. He’s in the Premier League, with a club that needs him, and after a brief delay getting a work permit, Jozy made an immediate impact with Hull, setting up the only goal in their match against Bolton just a minute after being subbed in. And the English press have been quick to recognize his efforts. Here are some headlines:

The replay of this game was on FSC yesterday and I was able to watch the 30 minutes of work he put in and let me tell you guys…it was shocking. He SHOULD have scored twice and set up another…Hull could have won that game 4-0 with Altidore having a hand in all 4 goals. He was making beautiful runs and putting himself in great position on nearly every attack. He looked nervous and I think that’s what hindered him on a couple plays that should have led to goals but otherwise it was an absolute amazing effort. If this performance doesn’t endear him to fans and solidify himself as a starter I have no idea what could.

Never thought I’d see a link to People on this site.

Y’know…unless Freddy Adu and JoJo were getting back together…

Matt: Different People.

But we all have our fingers crossed for an American Pele/JoJo reunion.

Jozy strikes again as he notched the game winning goal in Hull City’s round 2 Carling Cup match. Jozy went the entire 90 and was a part of a number of dangerous attacks. It seems Altidore, Geovanni and Ghilas are becoming a very threatening trio.

Did anyone else notice this stunt USMNT did when announcing their roster for the next to WCQ throughout the day? Like 3 per hour. It was stupid and no real “suprises” except for Beckerman and Robbie Findley and I don’t know anything about Findley.
