Spector Signs on for More Hammer’s Mediocrity

November 16th, 2008 | By: Carter Daly | No Comments »

Even having been injured for quite awhile, American defender/midfielder Jonathan Spector has signed an extension with West Ham until the year 2011. The team, who has been struggling of late and seemingly forever, apparently sees a lot of positives from what Spector has to offer, even from the training table…

“I appreciate their confidence in knowing I’m going to be making a full recovery and knowing I was doing everything I could possibly do in the U.S. for my rehab to make it back,” Spector told ESPNsoccernet. “I’ve certainly enjoyed playing for West Ham and it’s somewhere I want to be. I feel I have some things I want to accomplish at West Ham, and I was happy that the club gave me the opportunity to do that.”

The best thing about this extension is that Spector will be able to spend more time with such a Chelsea footballing legend as the great Zola (Should he avoid the sack). Such greatness will only rub-off on Spector and turn him into the gallivanting right back that USA fans have always dreamed of. Is it that obvious that I support Chelsea?

But in all honesty, Spector does have a lot to offer on the field for Bob Bradley and should he get healthy will absolutely be challenging for a spot on that coveted World Cup 2010 roster. Keep your game tight ‘Dolo.
