The US MNT doesn’t need a striker. It has Michael Bradley.
Michael Bradley continued his goal spree — which we last saw on the international level with his pair of goals in the win over Mexico — this time with another brace for Borussia Monchengladbach, helping them to defeat arch-rival FC Koln 4-2.
This brings Bradley’s Bundesliga goal tally to five for the season, four of which have come in his last five matches.
Also of note is the fact that he’s taking penalty kicks for Gladbach. Further proves that while he does have the skills of a holding midfielder, he is also a reliable finisher that should be treated (and positioned) as such with the national team.
UPDATE: Original video was taken down, so here are videos of just the two Bradley goals.

This kid seems to succeed no matter where he is. It took him a bit of time to get comfortable in M’Gladbach but he’s showing how good he can be when he’s fully integrated. Bradley may end up being one of the most successful international players the US has ever had 10 years from now.

Bradley has jeuvos! On a side note Marislov Klose may be out for the season. Too bad that Landy Cakes loan deal wasn’t until the end of the year. Playing time would have been a lot more frequent with only Toni and Podolski as strikers.

Good job for Bradley.
However, he probably was only taking the penalty kick because Marko Marin had already been substituted.

Here’s a shocking stat on Bradley with ‘Gladbach. In games where he plays the full 90 for them, they have 4 wins, 3 loses, and 4 draws. In other games they’re 2-11-0.

I still can’t believe a bigger club didn’t see the value in Bradley!!! He can play D, and score. He is like two different players in one. My guess is he won’t be at ‘Gladbach long… and move on to a bigger club… Does anybody else think Edu can become a player like this as well?
