Weekend Update
A few notes of interest early in the weekend…
Boca Released by Fulham – Fulhamerica is now short one native, as Carlos Bocanegra was released by the club yesterday. This was coming for a while now but it will be interesting to see where the USA captain ends up. There had been talks that PSV and Osasuna club were interested in his services. But now comes word that Bocanegra wants to stay in Premiership football. There should be a few offers there due to his respect throughout the league and performance over the last few seasons. It is an absolute necessity that he finds constant first team football though. No excuses there.
Beasley Returns for Rangers Victory in Scottish Cup – Run DMB made his return to the starting lineup for the ‘Gers and had a goal and the game winning assist in the Ibrox club’s Scottish Cup Final victory over Queen of the South. Uhh…nah…I’m just going to ignore that club’s name and say good for Bease. He will be an integral part of Papa Bradley’s plans this summer and may now possibly earn a start against England. Good to finally have a true speedy winger back on the squad to balance out the attack.
Bradley Rumors Continue – The rumor of the day for Michael Bradley is to play under Gareth Southgate as Middlesbrough. Ehh. I’m sorry but for me, Middlesbrough is just the most mid-table of the mid-table clubs. If that makes any sense at all. They are just…there. I liked more of the previous links for Bradley, and think that when stuff really starts going, he’s going to end up somewhere bigger.
That’s all for now, a little more later.
