Welcome to the Show
Jozy Altidore made his transfer to Villarreal official today, concluding in an elaborate press conference and kick around/photo-op in front of a packed house of Yellow Submarine supporters. The type of thing you most often see for the Thierry Henry’s of the world. Truly a sight to behold.

That right there is one of the prime examples that shows USA soccer is making it. One of the things that has impressed me the most about the national team over the past 8 years or so is how good they actually are in comparison to the clubs each individual plays for. This step up that the likes of Jozy and Freddy and Bradley are making is what will make the team that much better, shortening the gap between what we are right now and a team like the Netherlands or the Germans who are currently tearing up Euro 2008. It’s not there yet, but it is most certainly getting there.
