Yanks Abroad Updates

Latest updates from the Yanks Abroad newswire…

-Fulham FC continue to try and do their part to raise the number of American players in the Premiership as they are currently on the trail of Jay Demerit.

-Lazio are eager to wrap up a deal for U-20 Yank Danny Szetela. Although for selfish reasons I feel this is the wrong side of Rome (forza roma), it looks to be a good move for the kid where it sounds like he may get some decent minutes and get properly tutored for a big role in the future.

-Heathe Pearce has supposedly come out of nowhere to win the starting left back job at his new Bundesliga side Hansa Rostock. Sick for Heathe, now lets see if he can show some of this on the national team scene and challange Johnny Bornstien for a left back spot I still consider way up in the air.

-Sounds like Lee Nguyen is doing his best Heathe Pearce impression by not being the only Yank Abroad to impress his bosses in early preseason training. That loan move that once seemed imminent looks to be on hold for Lee at the moment as he is in the process of moving up the depth charts at PSV.

-After having a really rough end to his past European season with a simply awful loan stint at the Toon, my boy Gooch seems to be finding some of his touch again. He scored the winner for Standard Liege in their opener this past weekend. Let’s see if he can keep his form and finally get himself out of the Juniper League and onto bigger and better things.

-Tony Beltran may be on his way to second Bundesliga side Kaiserslautern. Good to see the possibly continued parade of impressive U-20’s to Europe.

…that’s all for now.
