USA Roster for Game vs. Brazil, August 10th

Jermain Jones (aka German Jones?) was originally named on the US roster to face Brazil in New Jersey, as was Columbus Crew defender Chad Marshall. However, both players have withdrawn from the squad. Jones
apparently needed more pre-season time with Schalke, as he’s still recovering from injury.

The replacements called up by (still) US head coach Bob Bradley are: LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez and Villarreal striker Jozy Altidore. Not 100% sure why Jozy wasn’t in the squad to begin with, but at least he’s in there now. Roster below:

GOALKEEPERS (2): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton)
DEFENDERS (6): Carlos Bocanegra (Saint-Étienne), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Clarence Goodson (IK Start), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)
MIDFIELDERS (6): Alejandro Bedoya (Örebro), Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht)
FORWARDS (4): Edson Buddle (Los Angeles Galaxy), Robbie Findley (Real Salt Lake), Herculez Gomez (Pachuca), Jozy Altidore (Villarreal)

The game is Tuesday, August 10th, 8pm eastern time kick off. It’s on EPSN2 and Univision for those in the US.

Interesting squad, although I'd like to see more new names. I'm actually happy that Jones dropped out. I'm not too excited about him to be honest. It would be like having Rossi come back for the USA because he doesn't play enough for Italy. I hope Bradley plays Gomez!

What an absolute embarrassment that match was. Please get rid of Bradley. It was obvious that the players weren't playing for him (including his son).

Seriously whoever ends up coaching the US should not call Jozy, Findley or Burnedstein ever again.

bornstein should be finished, end of story. findley as well. why is it that gomez creates scoring chances in the world cup and last night but is substituted late or removed early? i was for bob bradley but last night has me questioning him staying. Michael Bradley is really good. the entire back line needs to be revamped. seriously. bring in edgar castillas to play lb. he can't be worse that bumstein.
