100 on the Way
I guess now is as good a time as any will be…
Tomorrow, barring any disaster during today’s training (and I have yet to here of any), Landon Donovan will receive his 100th cap at the new Wembley against the English national team.
100 caps.
26 years old.
Those two numbers referring to the same person are truly something to behold. While we hear that “this is the United States we are talking about” enough in world soccer today (although it is lessening), 100 caps at the age of 26 is really something special. It is also quite a memory jogger to remember a young Landon darting all over the pitch in South Korea on the way to a historic finish for the American nats. One can only hope (but maybe at the rate he is playing, bet), that Landon is to provide more moments such as those in the next 100 caps. Here is to an all ready long career only reaching about the half way point. Congrats Landy.
