Congrats to Landy and the Boys, Time to Renew the Rivalry

January 25th, 2008 | By: Carter Daly | 1 Comment »

landy-and-oswaldo.jpgFirst off, props to Bob’s boys for the 2-0 victory to kick off the new year against the Swedes, and a big congratulations is in order for Landon Donovan for becoming the USA’s all-time leading goal scorer, passing many a supporter’s favorite broadcaster Eric Wynalda.

Although it was at the Home Depot Center, it was another quality win against a European opponent, as well as revenge for their last match against the Swedes which they lost on the other side of the Atlantic last August.

Since the win, Eddie Johnson has completed his move to Fulham, joining the rest of his Team America comrades. Am I the only one waiting in anticipation for a “Don’t Tread on This” goal celebration with Clint and EJ? Yeah, I thought so.

Next on the fixture list is none other than El Tri at Reliant Stadium in Houston on March 6.

Also on the list to cover is the U-23’s, who got a gift in the form of Jozy Altidore coming to join his younger brethrens as they fight for Olympic qualification.

I’ll be back with more, later.
