The Weather Outside is Frightful…

I’m at work and sneaking this post in (the World Cup Blog overlords have me writing about the WNT on weekends). Depending on the reliability of the Bay Area Bart system, I may be late to catch tonight’s round two friendly against Mexico. Word on the internets is, it’s snowing like a mofo in Utah which immediately reminded me of this recent SNL sketch:

I imagine that video pretty much represents how Mexico is feeling right now.

I expect we may see the debut of Alex Morgan or perhaps the return of Casey Nogueira. Injured Heather Mitts is not on the final roster list so Brittany Taylor may get her first nod too. I also expect Hope Solo to sit this one out since she barely did anything at all during the last game (when the camera was away, I imagined her back there finishing up her taxes). Seems these friendlies would be a great opportunity to give Jill Loyden a shot but I guess that wasn’t on the agenda.

It’s all going down tonight, 7pm Mountain time, on ESPN2.
