America’s Got Talent
… Despite what they showed in the first two warm-up games.
After the now infamous Benny Feilhaber “No Air” performance video made its debut early yesterday, Benny apparently turned on the magic again for a live duet performance of Boyz II Men, “I’ll Make Love to You”, with Charlie Davies. Apparently, even shy Mo Edu put in work with his instrumental vocals, on the kick drum, cum cum!, Maurice, on the kick drum, cum cum, cum cum! This was all after Charlie Davies took everyone back to Neverland Ranch with a live dancing rendition of MJ’s “Billie Jean”. It was reported that no children were harmed during the moon walk portion of the performance.
Next came Fred Adu, who apparently plays the Bongo’s with the best of them. Peter Nowak may in fact have a future as a talent scout after he is canned as U-23 coach. Jozy Altidore accompanied him with a tribal dance which in my head plays out frighteningly similar to Jim Carrey’s performance in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls when Ace is taking on his final tribal test and is subsequently speared in both legs. Visual aid here:
So, in conclusion, if points in the group stages were awarded based on embarrassing yourself in front of large groups of people (which is always good for a laugh), or “team camaraderie”, the USA may have a shot at advancing.
In other news, training is going steady in between talent shows, and Nowak has a serious roster to pick. Ives has his thoughts on that matter, and I may be joining him in posting my thoughts on that subject later tonight.
Another note, I will be (essentially) out of the country as I am taking a trip to the soccer hot-bed of Wyoming for six days. So resident not-so-new-anymore guy Brooks will have the reigns of this page for the start of the games that actually count. I will be checking in with him randomly via the wonders of text messaging, and he will in-turn be posting my musings right here in a segment named…well we don’t know yet, but it might be named something good…or not.
Thoughts on any of the above topics? Leave ‘em in the comments…

I laughed at that “team camaraderie” comment on their blog as well. That’s definitely what wins games….or not! Have a good trip!
