Arena Post Match Quotes
Arena had plenty to say after the game. There’s a complete quote sheet here. Edited highlights are as follows…
Clint Dempsey “is positioning himself for a place on the World Cup roster.”
The multitude of substitutions “hurt our continuity a little bit and the flow of the game. It did get sloppy, but I was really pleased with our performance for the entire evening.”
In the March friendlies against Poland and Germany he’s “going to want to take a look at as many European-based players as possible, because that is the only date we have for them.”

Just thinking.
Is Brian McBride part of the USAs plans for the world cup.Because the way he has been playing for Fulham in the English premiership,he certainly should be.He has been scoring at will and is superb in the air.
With Italy and the Czechs in the same group I fear the worst for your team. I hope im wrong but I just get the feeling that you will be comming home early.

I think he will be part of the team. he has enough experience to pass to the youngster. I also agree with you that the US will have an impossible mission to pass through the Czechs and the Italians. If they pass those two teams, then, I will be corrected. But for now, the US team is a mediocre team that can only beat teams like Canada, Costa Rica, Panama, and someitmes but bearly, Mexico. Just thinking..

McBride is the number one striker for the US. He is a monster in the air and was very solid in Korea in 2002. The question remains as to who will be paired up front with him. Josh Wolf, Taylor Twellman, Conor Casey, et. al are fighting for that spot.
And for those who think the US is technically inferior based on the Japan match, keep in mind that 12-15 of its top players were in Europe and did not play in that game. The US is a talented team when it has its European based players.

Oh come on!! who does the US have that is so great and worthy of mention?? please. USA is just ok like Japan who has a Nakata, Korea who has Park Ji Sung, or like a Ukraine who has a Shevchenko. please dont confuse the USA as a strong team with a team full of tequnique. very far from reality. if they had a Raul, Casillas, Puyol, and Garcia like spain then, i would say that yes, the usa has a good team. but the reality is that the US is too low in quality. put an Argentina beside US. yeah, you see my point. but i wont say that it is worse than Ivory Coast or Costa Rica, or Paraguay.
