Bruce Trusts Players
Arena is treating the players like grown men, and not monitoring who comes home at what time.
“They’re fantastic men and not little kids,” Arena said. “I don’t believe the job as coach is to make up rules and administer them. I’m not going to sit in the hotel lobby, checking curfews.”
Reflects well on Bruce and on the squad as a whole. I can’t imagine any player being dumb enough to treat this stay in Hamburg like spring break.

I completely understand Bruce Arena’s motivation to give his players their freedom and families during the World Cup – I hope they realize it’s ultimately what they will fight for on the field in addition to each other. I know freedom is what I fought to give them in the military and sacrificed my body in the process so that I can no longer play soccer. I hope they will also play for me.
