Camp Over, No One Hurt

The Cary training camp is over, and it seems like everything went well. Definitely the players are fitter after some intensive work-outs, and definitely team spirit will be that bit stronger after spending over a week together.
But the really good news, and I mean this sincerely, is that no-one got hurt. DMB apparently twisted his ankle slightly, but we’re told it’s nothing to worry about. We should head into the Send Off Series with everyone, including John O’Brien, looking in decent shape and ready to fight for a spot in the first eleven.

I’ve stated this before — I’m not sure that DMB is a lock for the starting XI.
We’ve got another good option at his natural position. His form seems to have taken a noticeable dip — probably from all those splinters in his backside, courtesy of the PSV bench… And, he looked very unremarkable in his only action this year for the MNT, against Poland.
If anyone can resuscitate the young man’s confidence, however, it is The Bruce, and I hope for the best.
