Dempsey’s Doin’ It

February 25th, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 1 Comment »

Not in the LL Cool J way, but, you know…scoring goals. He did it again — this time in Fulham’s 2-1 FA Cup replay win over Swansea City, scoring late to pull his side even, before Bobby Zamora sealed the win just four minutes later.

That gives Clint five goals on the season and four since December 20.

I couldn’t find video of the goal, but above is a slideshow of the custom boots Nike made for him, playing off the US MNT’s “Don’t Tread on Me” logo. Pretty badass.

From what I have seen from Fulham, Clint may be their best offensive player. That’s a pretty cool thing to be able to say considering Fulham is currently sitting in 8th with one game to make up in the EPL. Clint has really solidified himself, aside from the goalkeepers, as the most productive american in europe. Let’s hope he will be able to mesh into the US MNT just as well for the confederations cup and obviously the world cup.
