I think it's good for the players and fans. I don't like a lot of the defeatism I keep hearing about the US being in a tough group and will be "lucky" to progress. I have watched that match many times and while we certainly played with Germany step for step we did not "control" them and Landon missed two clear shots (or rather he had to go up against Oliver Kahn) including a break away one on one affair that we really needed. It was probably the best any USMNT has ever played, but as you know it wasn't good enough (hand ball or not). We are going to have to have our A+ game to get out of our group. But we had our A+ game in 2002 for every match but Poland and that didn't matter in the end. USA baby! We don't want to sound to arrogant and therefore motivate teams to "gun" for us.
