Donovan Out Of Germany Game
Landon Donovan has been ruled out of the Germany game with a calf strain. No need for Clint Dempsey to wait by the phone though, Arena won’t be calling up a replacement.

I’m becoming more and more dubious of getting a result against Germany.
Germany really needs/wants this game, after the 4-1 drubbing by Italy. Plus, they have their full compliment of Bundesliga players — it’ll be a strong side.
I’m looking forward to a good test, however.

Chuck:
Truly. I think that not having Landon has its positives and negatives. In my view it is a good thing for a cuople of reasons:
1. Our opponents won’t gain as much from scouting us, and
2. It’s an opportunity to see who can step up as a leader and perform.
One downside is that since Landon will be in the final squad for sure, it’s that much less of a chance for his teammates to work with him on team chemistry.
