Half Time Report

Half time in the USA-Poland game.

If you haven’t been able to watch then don’t worry because you haven’t missed much, plus you haven’t had to suffer Dave O’Brien’s commentary (is “well defensed” a real phrase?) For those stuck at work here’s a quick first half round up.

No goals, and no real chances though Keller has made a couple of decent saves. Onyewu has looked very solid, and Cherundolo has looked keen to get forward from right back. Eddie Lewis seems to have his game backwards. He’s looked comfortable defending but a little lost when going forward.

Zavagnin has been busy, snapping at Polish ankles, but he lacks the class to dictate the pace of a game that someone like Reyna would provide. Dempsey has shown some decent touches but hasn’t really got anything going except for one great through ball to Beasley that was ruled offside.

Up front, Johnson and Twellman both have their chance as McBride sits out with a slight injury. Twellman hasn’t seen much of the ball, and Johnson, I’m afraid to say, looks a little out of his depth.
