Nick,

I agree. Cahill is such an important part of both the Socceroos and Everton. I think we have a great midfield (Cahill, Bresciano and Grella (Parma), Culina (PSV), Kewell, Emerton). Cahill is the driving force.

Yeah, the Toffees need some goals. I know you guys are interested in Johnson but if you get him, hope he don't turn out to be another Beattie, play good for a lesser club and patchy for a top club. Kuyt would be a good fit (if he is still available after the WC).

Martin,

I think that without Cahill, the Socceroos won't have a chance. I know that Viduka and Kewell are top-notch, but Australia will need some fire and skill in the middle of the pitch.

Moyes, by the way, needs to look for someone to put a few balls in the back of the net this summer. Dunc's on his way out, and Beattie can't seem to regain his Southampton form.

I'm hoping to be able to get to Dallas at the end of July to see Everton take on Club America.

[...] Later on tonight the United States squares off against Venezuela. The US is looking to rebound from a somewhat poor performance against Morocco earlier in the week. Tim Howard gets the start in goal so expect a lot of swearing. Daryl will be doing a liveblog on the USA Blog during the match so stop on by and leave your thoughts while the game is happening.
Cajun Nick, I'm happy Cahill has been cleared to play. We need him for the World Cup. I know Moyes wasn't too keen on him playing but you can't keep someone out of the World Cup.

Howard should be the #1 US keeper.

As I am a Toffies fan, I'm glad to see Tim out on the pitch tonight.

I've also got some good news - and good news for Australia, too: Tim Cahill has been cleared to play.

Go get 'em Timmy! It's a good idea to get all the players out there at least once. I'd like to see what Ben Olsen can do.
