Denis,

Germany beat us badly. It's true, but the score was 4-1 not 4-0, and the defender whose terrible mistakes led to 3 of the goals didn't even make the team. The subject of the Germany loss and what it meant for the U.S. were much discussed in this blog, but here's a refresher/update for you now that our WC roster is solidified:

Of the 15 players who played against Germany, 5 didn't make the team, 5 are definite subs, and 5 have a chance to start. Other than Keller, none of our top players were there. Reyna, Beasley, McBride, Donovan, Oneywu and probably O'Brien are all locks to start for the US if 100%. It was definitely a B-team for the US, but what's most important is it helped us weed out a few players that didn't belong on the team, like Behrhalter and Twellman.

We are in arguably the most difficult group and will need to play very well to advance. Most all US supporters know that, and are optomistic we'll succeed. Notice that no-one is saying this kind of stuff about Mexico even though we routinely beat them anywhere but Azteca.

I believe that our us national team has what it takes to win this world cup or any future world cups.I dont care what others say ,that soccer is not our sport.Just take a moment and check our past accomplishments in world cup soccer.Better recognize!

well...hello team USA fans. This is wierd!! I live in the USA and there is not even one person I know that likes soccer, MLS or US Soccer!! Lets be seriouse guys. What are the chances of TEAM USA actualy winning the first round. I know it was easy qualifying for the world cup, playing against countries that no one even knows. But honestly, the chzech republic is ranked second in the world!! And italy has player that are so good, that its going to be almost imposible to beat them! You guys lost 4-0 against Germany wich was rediculiouse!! Germany sucks they lost against Italy 4 zero!! I belive italy is i your group..but loosing 4-0 against germany thats not even funny. That just told me that US will not make through the first round.
Ghana is also a super good team, they are fast as lightning and they have nothing to lose. I hope everything goes well for the US team this summer because I dont want them to emberace them selves AGAIN.

Well, we all know who is going to win the world cup this summer..its not a surprise, it will be my beloved Croatia.

Well thats it, Im not a hater, Im just telling you, what I belive is going to happen. Anyways I wonder what you think will happen to the US Team.

Link in the post fixed. Big thanks to Jon for providing the link in the comments section.

I'll try and check back with Keller's blog every week, and do a post (with a working link) whenever he updates.

Ugh, no RSS feed. How can a blog not have a dedicated RSS feed? Does CBS Sportsline seriously expect me to check in regularly to see if Kasey's updated the thing?

Jon,

Thanks for posting the link. (Boy, am I really lazy. I'd rather spend my time typing out comments than cruise on over to sportsline.com myself.)

Kasey's blog is a gem. He's got some great comments, and he apparently doesn't mind offering his opinion. I will certainly be back to it again and again.
