New USA Nike Kits Revealed

February 13th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 9 Comments »

Alright, US fans. You’ve been waiting patiently to see the kits your team will be wearing this summer in Germany, but you don’t need to wait a second longer.

I’d have to say that these are the best uniforms the US has ever worn, which tells you something about the history of awful uniforms the team has worn over the years. Remember the denim nightmare of 1994? Count your blessings that you won’t be seeing DMB wearing denim this summer.

That said, these are still ugly and will only make me wish I still had a black and white tv so I won’t have to see these colors this summer.

You can buy your kits here

i like the white home jersey, not the blue one. I think that the US should have a bald eagle or some nice logo, something to differentiate… maybe even intimidate, who knows

I like them. Nike, by far, makes the best sporting uniforms. Addidas’ stuff sucks in my opinion.

Some people seem to not like the ‘away’ uniform becasue of the bold red strip, but I dig it. I actually liked those mid 90’s unis that looked that way. I think we were wearing those when Sampson’s team did so well in Copa America.

The Dutch Nike jersies are the best of the on the Nike WC kits in my opinion, with ours next in line.

It would be a blast if the US uniforms were based on Captain America’s hero uniform. Not only it would be funny as hell, but the POP appeal would be huge!!! he he

Does anyone know the jersey numbers of the world cup players? Why do some players have 2 numbers (i.e. Landon Donovan is 10 and 21)? I think the new kits are pretty damn cool and want to order one before heading over to Germany in June.

“why do players have 2 numbers?”

Phil to answer your question certain players like Donovan where the different numbers because players with seniority where the number they would like to have. In Donovan’s #10 case Reyna when he is playing wears that number.

On the uniforms. The white is growing on me but I did not like the blue when it originally came out back in 95-96 when USA switched to nike. I liked the 94 WC jerseys because they had personality. these are just repeats.

first of all, the blue kits are mediocre. they look like those fake-me-out t-shirts you buy at abercrombie or old navy. the whites are nice. love the assymetrical stripe.

another thing: the U.S. federation NEEDS is a new insignia bad. it’s too big, and cartonnish… and it’s just ugly. looks like someone’s cousin drew it up on his trapper keeper.

Exact Copy of England’s Umbro kit. USA sucks at soccer, horribly. Who in the hell watches MLS anyway? Stick with NFL fellas.

As a Limey I say MLS is a good and improving league. Great kits by the way.

I don’t like these uniforms, they’re ugly and look pretty old (specially the red one), c’mon!! they’re back at the 60’s or 70’s and I don’t agree with that, Nike is expected to design modern uniforms to look ok, but in the end I expecto the soccer team to make it better than in 2002. Go USA!!!
