Nike TV Gooch Video

Nike TV has been launching new videos every week as the World Cup gets closer. You need to download the Nike TV application to play them (do that here if you like) but luckily they all end up on YouTube anyway.

This Gooch video is the latest. It’s basically his career so far, and features some great footage of him playing at college, at the coiffure hommes in Liege and, invetiably, against Borgetti.

That photo of Gooch rising above the goal keepers hands was perhaps the most impressive part of the video. Those are some serious ups.

Given that defense (or sometimes just our keeper) has traditionally kept the U.S. in many a match, it’s nice to see players like the Gooch up and coming in the national squad. My crystal ball says the Czechs are gonna fold like Portugal in 2002!

Here’s what I took away from that video, watching with the sound off (because I’m at work):
1) He’s tall and strong.
2) He likes to manhandle Mexicans.

I’ve been watching you grow as a player. Keep up the good work and kick some Czech butt and Monday.
P.S. nice tower over the goal keeper in the video. I’d like to see that a few times in the world cup too.
