I'm ok with the selection of parkhurst. I would have been ok with demerit too. Parkhurst is praised in mls for his play and understanding of the game. I'm interested to see how he does in international competition. We know what the Goocher can do.
On the back line I'm more anxious to watch the fullbacks. Those spots on the senior team seem to be wide open for the taking. We don't have many players that are both good defenders AND can bomb forward and put quality service into the box. Usually its one or the other (see Hejduk on defense, and Pearce or Bornstein on the attack).
Should be a great tourney, I hope Nowak gives Freddy the green light to press the attack and be creative in the midfield.

Totally thrilled to see McBride in action one last time.
Would be even MORE thrilled if they have training in LA so I can stop in and watch!

Too bad Mcribe isn't a bit younger. That could grow into an imposing duo on the international stage.

I couldn't agree with you more about Onyewu, Parkhurst was pretty low on my list of overage candidates. It sort of seems like a last minute thing to me, maybe because Beas Knees got hurt again. I was thinking maybe a guy like DeMerit but the Gooch should have gotten a shot as well.

Oh well, looking forward to the tournament igual.

I'm really excited for the McBride/Altidore striking duo, and I'm happy Benny got a call up so maybe he can impress and get the hell out of Derby County.
