Player Profile: (2) Chris Albright

Born: January 14th, 1979
Hometown: Philladelphia, Pennsylvania
Height: 6′1″
Weight: 185 lbs
Caps: 20 (1 goal on his debut, none since)
World Cups: -
Clubs: Los Angeles Galaxy (2002-present), D.C. United (1999-2002)
College: University of Virginia
Positions: RB (solid) LB (good enough) CB (if necessary) RM (do a job) LM (do a sort of a job) CF (played in college, scoring 2o in 22 but it’s been a while)
Arena says: “Chris is a guy that takes advantage of his physical qualities. Set pieces in the attack, he’s dangerous defensively because of his size, good in the air. In the attack, probably a little bit better than Frankie because of his experience as an attacking player most of his soccer career. He gives us a little more going forward than Frankie, perhaps, maybe he doesn’t have the experience on the defensive end of the field that Frankie offered.”
Assessment:
Originally named as an alternate, Albright was called in to replace the injured Frankie Hejduk. Will be a decent backup for Steve Cherundolo at right back, though won’t be as effective going forward or defensivly. Can play left back, but most would prefer Bocanegra to step across if anything happens to Lewis. Strong, enough skill and not too slow either. Also quite fancy him to head in a corner if necessary. Strange mop-like hairstyle. Slightly injury prone, but healthy for now.
