Pope Back On Form
February 14th, 2006 | By: Daryl | No Comments »
Eddie Pope’s recent form has received some well earned praise. After a spell of bad form and injury, there were suggestions it was time for the veteran to step aside for younger players like Oguchi Onyewu.
But solid performances (and goals) against Norway and Japan make it likely Onyewu will partner Pope in Germany, rather than replace him. Maybe he’ll retire from international football post-World Cup, but his experience will be vital this summer.
