Rally The Troops
The MNT will finally get to enjoy the support of a home crowd tomorrow, even though they’re miles from home.
USA supporters are usually outnumbered by the opposition on their home turf, a constant emnarrassment to American soccer. But the US Army base near Kaiserslauten should ensure a partisan crowd, especially as Poland are also away from home.
Kasey Keller and Landon Donovan are getting excited about the prospect. Keller said “I think we’re going to have our most pro-American crowd in years, so we’re excited about that.”
But, as usual, Bruce Arena wasn’t too excited. “I hope that’s the case. It should be. You never know. I’ve seen funnier things happen. They might be sending busloads from Poland over here.”
He’s always thinking about the opposition isn’t he?
