The Adu Mill Continues Spin

July 13th, 2007 | By: Carter Daly | 2 Comments »

I have a feeling we will have a new one of these things every few days or weeks until Adu finally makes his move across the Atlantic.

Yesterday we heard Celtic was lining up their bid, and today we get word that Parma may be formulating one as well.

It seems that Parma have interest, but may only make a bid if their currently on loan traitor is not able to be bought from Manchester United. But the interest is there and the traitor could be quite tough to obtain from United.

After the U-20 World Cup ends and the talks for Freddy become more serious, I don’t think Parma will be that big a player. But who knows, if they lose Rossi they could go real hard for Adu, and you know MLS likes a fat paycheck. I still see a “bigger” club stepping up for him though.

What do you think of a possible move to Parma for Adu? Where do you think Adu will end up?

I think that the best thing for Adu’s development would be to end up in a France or Holland. Both countries have a good record of developing young talent and I think there would be less pressure on him there. Spain is obviously a good option as well but definitely not England. He’s not physically ready to handle the rigors of that kind of league. Someone will come in for a hard tackle and end up putting him out for a season. While that could happen anywhere its definitely more likely to in England. I really wish a decent dutch side would pick him up and capitalize on his potential…

I agree Rami. i think the important thing is for him to get first team experience and a good coach who can bring him along. This is a crucial point in his development and it will be interesting to see how things play out. Will he wind up at a club like Ajax where he can develop his skills and reading of the game or a club like Celtic where he will be hacked to pieces by a bunch of chalk faced goons every time he touches the ball? I really hope he chooses the best situation available and doesn’t just go for the most money and/or exposure.
