I cant believe the team that won the gold cup is not playing (or at least half of them)to make it look like the USA wants to be competitive. This team in Copa America suckx. They look lazy and bored to be playing. They lose to Paraguay and look like they half assed it. We brought the WRONG guys.

Uscgjt5 raises a point that’s been bothering me too. I’ve been defending Bradley’s decision to bring a squad full of newbies–or at least point out how it makes sense seen from certain angles, but I have to admit that I don’t understand why Bradley didn’t bring at least a few of the Europe-based players who played in the Gold Cup. And I can’t imagine that all of them refused.

I think Johnson is overrated. I thought that Bob Bradely finally saw the light with EJ when he sat him out for the Gold Cup final. I am so frustrated because he has all this hype that he is not living up to. My personal opinion is that the US Soccer Federation needs to have a token African American with diamond earrings on the team at all times. I support US soccer trying to appeal to the inner city but come on lets be realistic! When he loses the ball he does not try to win it back. At least Taylor fights until the ball is cleared out. He dose not hustle. He has had chance after chance to prove himself and I don’t know about any of you but I sure think he hasn’t. Bob Bradley needs to get him off the team. He is a waste of a roster spot. Alticor would be a fine replacement. Why didn’t Bradley bring the Fulham guys and the other premiership guys? I understand not bringing the MLS stars because of the coming of Beckham but the European based players are off season. Why not try to win this tournament also?

colombia you will beat and paraguay will be a good game for you guys

all in all you will make it to the
second round its almost HARD to be disqualified first round of the copa as only 4 out of 12 dont make it threw (colombia will be one of them)

McBride
Dempsey, Donovan
Convey, Beasley, John O’Brien
Gibbs, Onyewu, Conrad, Spector
Howard

None of us would have been disappointed if this game had been played out backwards…

That is, if we would have given up 3 goals in the first 30 minutes, another in the 79th, before converting a PK in the 81st minute, I think that’s about what we expected with our team.

However, that “Fool’s Gold” as you aptly describe it, has left some people sour.

Uh, we played Argentina. The team they’ve brought to this tournament is probably stronger than the team they brought to the World Cup.

The team we brought, on the other hand, had guys like Eddie Gaven, who’s not even a starter for the suck-ass Columbus Crew in the (suck-ass) MLS.

So relax and keep things in perspective.
