US Starting XI Versus Guatemala
Bruce Arena has named his starting 11 for today’s friendly against Guatemala. As you can see, it is a mix of experienced players with young guys. The one question I have is what is Ben Olsen doing in the national team pool? The guy is a decent enough player but I don’t see him having a shot at being on the team in Germany. He is taking up a slot that could be used to give a young player some international experience.
Obviously this isn’t our top team, but it should be fun to watch the forwards battle for a World Cup spot. Keep an eye on Heath Pearce at the back. Today could mean the difference for him between an invite to the Poland friendly or the end of his World Cup hopes.
