US Team Medical Examination
What were you were doing at 6:30 a.m. this Saturday morning? I was dreaming pleasant dreams of F.A. Cup Final anticipation.
The squad in Cary however, were up and out of bed to be “picked and poked at” (according to Clint Dempsey) for the most comprehensive medical exam a US team has ever taken.
There were blood tests, followed by a gruelling treadmill-on-an-incline stress test, vision tests and, somewhat bizarrely, a dental exam.
Click here to listen to what the players had to say about their ordeal.
All this courtesy of US Soccer.com, who are doing a great job releasing information about the goings on at Cary.

The dental exam is not such an outlandish thing. If a guy comes down with an abcess or toothache he’s not going to be playing for at least a few hours maybe as long as a week if they gotta jerk the sucker. And if somebody gets his 32 unglued (probably McBride who has had more facial injuries then Jake LaMotta) then they have charts to see where the new teeth should go…
