Good win against decent European opposition on European soil. After looking a bit lost first half, USA came out very organized for the second 45 minutes and played a fairly patient posession game.
We were maybe a little lucky with the goal. From Eddie Lewis’ high left wing cross the Polish keeper punched the ball straight at Taylor Twellman’s head. The ricochet landed perfectly for an onrushing Clint Dempsey, who headed home unopposed at the far post.
The snow came down hard and fast in the last 20 minutes or so but USA held onto that slender lead.
