USC v Hammarby Highlights

January 25th, 2006 | By: Daryl | No Comments »

Video highlights of USC v Hammarby scrimmage are are now on-line here.

A lively looking Chris Rolfe dribbles the ball through a crowded box before hammering it into the top left corner. He’s also involved in the second goal, bursting down the right before pulling the ball back to Freddy Adu at the top of the box. Adu lays it off neatly to Pat Noonan on the left and Noonan fakes to shoot with his left, switches it to his right and then delicateley lifts the ball over the keeper. “One time Pat opened up a can of Campbell’s soup with his right foot,” Kyle Martino sys afterwards. “It was unbelievable.”

Rolfe’s Chicago Fire team-mate Nate Jaqua is later involved in a tussle, and gets a cut above his eye as a souveneir. Curiously the Hammarby goal isn’t shown, so there’s no telling who was at fault.

It’s looking more and more like Rolfe is the one who’s taking advantage of this camp, and he’s definitely closer to making the World Cup squad than he was before. I hope he gets a chance to impress against Norway on Sunday.
