Wider Implications
June 22nd, 2006 | By: Daryl | 2 Comments »
Another Grant Wahl article here, considering the implications of Thursday’s games.
According to Wahl they are:
- A place in the second round (obviously).
- The sanity of US fans.
- Landon Donovan’s reputation.
- The U.S.’s status as an emerging player on the world soccer stage.
- The future of the Bruce Arena era in U.S. soccer.

I’d agree that if the US goes home without progressing from the group that it’s time to look for Bruce’s replacement before World Cup qualifying in 2008.

Why can’t Wahl or Galarcep (of ESPN) be announcers for games?
I dont agree with them all the time, but they at least understand the American game and make good points.
I think that a) Balboa and Wynalda are morons, and b) They agree on everything.
I want to see conflict!
