Any other year since about 97 Keller has been the first choice keeper. Friedel stepping aside allows Arena to reward Keller with the #1 job for this WC. The really isn't much difference in quality between to two, and I'm more than confident in Keller's ability. If Friedel were to go to Germany, I think it would clearly be as a backup. Plus, he is from Mars and that's always helpful playing in Germany. I would LOVE to see Brad as the #1 in June. Alas I think it is probably not going to happen. That being said, I'm sure that Arena and Friedel know that Brad is simply a phone call away.
