Happy Birthday to You, Mr. Sacha Kljestan

Today is a day for celebration, as this marks a full 23 years of Sacha Kljestean blessing the earth with his unmatched bro-ness and brown flowing locks.

Yes, today is Sacha Kljestan’s birthday.

Sacha Kljestan also has the honor of sharing his birthday with Adam Sandler. Congratulations are in order for that all by its self. Yet the fact that he also shares this date with former Dookie University basketball player Shane Battier and singer Michael Buble render the congratulations null.

I must say, this last year of having Sacha in the national team fold has brought a breath of fresh bro to the entire USMNT camp. Benny Feilhaber, Sacha’s best broseph, was there for a little while, but his bro-ness was diminished by the wretches of British accents and a lack of board shorts weather in Derbyshire, in addition to the fact that his clean shaven “shape up” could never touch Sacha’s current bro-mullet. Sacha, on the other hand, has been the unwavering pillar of brodaciousness that the national team needs to succeed on the world’s stage.

In addition for having a self expressed affinity for “emo chicks” (hello facebook), Sacha also enjoys playing soccer and scoring goals.

Fo’ real do’ - Sacha’s play has really improved this past year and I think he is somewhat underrated at this point to become a potential constant impact player for the nats. He has been tearing up MLS all year and a move to Europe looks imminent in the near future after the reported interest of FC Twente and AS Monaco. Bob keeps giving him the looks and Sacha keeps impressing in whatever role he is being given.

I once read on Wikipedia some months ago, that Sacha claimed that 2008 was the year that he “could not feel his face”. Let’s hope that in the year ahead; Sacha proverbially loses the feeling in the rest of his body and goes on to tear up Europe and the international stage.
