Szetela and Feilhaber Updates

Looks like both of these moves are going to go through.
Today Derby sucesfully obtained a work permit for the USA’s Gold Cup hero Benny Feilhaber. Sound like Commander Bob helped by writing a referance for his boy Benny to gain his permit. Feilhaber is expected to join the club soon after their debut this Saturday. Once again I think its a good step to the Permiership for Benny, let’s just hope Derby can stay up. Plus, it’s pretty sweet to turn up you Austin Power’s accent and say the name of Benny’s new club, pronounced Darby.
As I said yesterday, stick with Ives for your info, especially if we are talking about Clifton New Jersey native Danny Szetela. Ives has covered this kid since he first hit the scene and I would say he has a pretty damn good beat on his move over seas. Here is his update.
The deal with Roma is going to go through. The downplayed comments from Szetela’s people were because Roma didn’t want word of the deal getting out before it happenned so nobody like their rival Lazio could swoop in at the last minute.
Forza Szetela, Forza Roma.
In other possible transfer news for the future, today young Red Bull New York star Jozy Altidore speculated on a possible move to Europe comming as early as this winter. For selfish reasons, say it ain’t so. Many Red Bull supporters will be devistated if the fan favorite moves on, but we all know at heart what is best for him.
Jozy talked about waiting for the “right move” to come along. The “right move”, in my opinion means one of the biggest clubs in the world. I know we don’t want to start with the Freddy hype, but if anyone truly deserves it at this point it is Jozy. He has everything a world soccer power would want; size, youth, skill, strength, speed, and athleticism. He is built to compete in any of the top leagues in Europe and when he does go I think it will be to the likes of a Chelsea who are already claimed to have interest or maybe one of the giants over in Italy or Spain.
