Take that Cameroon

September 29th, 2009 | By: Brooks Peck | 6 Comments »

Well, this one was certainly much better than the last against Germany. The fabulously named Dilly Duka’s goal (0:58) was a thing of (deflected?) beauty.

I was only able to watch the highlights on Youtube. The Cameroon defense looked like ours in the game against Germany.

We obviously finished very well. IMO a better keep on the Cameroon side would’ve saved one goal. That is still 3 to 1.

Was the PK that was awarded legit?

What kind of formation did we play?

How was our midfield? Please, an honest answer. I would prefer Brooks or Marlon to respond to that question :-)

1. So why isn’t Thomas Rongen our full national team coach? If Papa Bradley were in charge we would have played defensively after that first goal.
2. I love how a guy named Banana Yaya is the one who scored on us.
3. The guys looked good and Duka’s goal was awesome.

It didn’t look like the 3rd goal was deflected.

Re: the PK, Opara did tug the jersey of Banana, who the responded by diving to the ground a second or so later. Not sure that it really justified a PK, but at least it wasn’t a total phantom call. However, did notice some other bad no-calls on pretty obvious fouls committed by the lions agaisnt the nats. Oh well, nice result, hope the lads can keep it up against the Koreans.
