The midfield probably looks more fluid when Charlie R's knee isn't busted.

Thanks for posting this. We could have more goals (see: soft call against on disallowed goal in 24th minute, ball cleared off the line in the 40th) but overall I guess I'm satisfied. I don't expect too much of the U-17s but clearly the overall flow of the team leaves much to be desired. The buildup to the 2nd goal was nice, as was the linkup play that led to the 3rd (helped by shoddy defending from Cuba). I thought that the strikers held the ball up well and played an excellent, patient game.

However, like the above guy I thought that the movement in the midfield needed to be better. Once in a while a fullback would make a supporting run but those were few and far between.

I watched all the goals and about 10 sample minutes throughout. I wasn't impressed with the coaching. The ball is in the midfield and players are not running to support the ball carrier to maintain possesion. A lot of vertical plays. I prefer more possesion and lateral movement and vertical when the opportunity presents itself.

Obviously I don't want to see an unorganized buildup, but I would like to see more possesion. I thought the first 2 minutes of the game were the best for the US. They worked the ball around well for a minute or so.

I am certain I am being too picky, but I am comparing to Brasil et al.

The Cuban defenders are what killed Cuba in that game. No passion or physicality to let the US know they were there.
