Nickname?

With site captain Bob breaking the tragic story that the Bafana Bafana nickname for South Africa will be fazed out, it brought to mind our beloved USA National Team and it’s lack of a certain distinguishable moniker.

Yanks, Stars n’ Stripes… it really ends there. In a country where bold symbolism and folk lore are ever present, our national team truly lacks a meaningful nickname. This goes hand in hand with many people’s disliking of our current federation badge that is worn on our currently outdated kits. I guess the badge right now is better than the alternative they were thinking of using…

Anyways, US Soccer needs an identity, and a nickname would go a long way to help. So I reach out to you, faithful of the red white and blue, what shall our native soccer heroes be dubbed?

I totally agree. I want to see soccer in the U.S. actually become something more than it already is. I agree totally that the logo/badge must be changed. Its not even historically correct. Blue stripes? come on, they’re supposed to be red. and what kind of designer would make a usa logo with blue stripes instead of red. We need a logo thats more, say, looks political, like something that looks like the seal of the president of the united states, you know like how spain has their flag emblem for their badge. It would have more meaning to what the team stands for. And the uniforms are old and tacky. They need the Navy Blue of course, not that royal blue they used, and a white uniform, and an alternate red uniform. I have ideas one what they should look like but I have no picture.
