Steve - people don't seem to remember or recognize what he did. Like I said, 16 months of garbage does not a career make. I think it also hurts him that, until about 2 years ago, Americans didnt have the outlet to see EPL or oversea games. Lots of the genius in his play came from possession, not goal scoring - another tough measure. Its alot of things.

Regardless, he was always one of my fav all time national team players (right up there with McHead) and he deserves only the best (especially after trotting on the cement that is Giant Stadiums pitch).

How can you even say you "dont care" about Reyna retiring. He was a great player for the USA and in England, he obviously had nothing left in the tank when he came to NY. Why is it that so many soccer fans have such short term memories?

I could probably get away with nailing Reyna to the cross for his recent play in the Bulls - but he is more than just 16 months of drek. He was a trailblazer for the US team, opening the doors for the likes of a Gabe Ferrari or a Benny Feilhaber to get a sniff from European clubs. He has killed me as a fan of the Bulls - but I respect the hell out of him for his accomplishments internationally. Without the likes of Reyna, and McBride, Europe would still be scouring our systems for strictly goalkeepers.

Perugia was once a stellar Seria A side, oh how the mighty have fallen. Any more news on Ferrari or videos of his play.
