Gold Medal Y’all!

It was an overtime goal from Carli Lloyd that ended the game at 1-0. The USA brings home the Gold YET AGAIN (haters to the left).

Personally, I thought a USA vs Brazil final matchup was enough to get everyone excited and help carry the fans up to the first real days of the new Women’s Professional Soccer league. But a win for our side is just icing on the cake. It’s really is a great day for all US Soccer fans since the men’s team also beat Guatemala last night. That’s two for two in 24 hours!

To be honest I didnt see us winning this game. In the first half it was all Brazil. Everytime we got the ball to the midfield brazil would close us down and force players to dribble towards our own goal. But hey, this is team USA we’re talking about, whenever we’re the underdog, we usually beast it out!

Great game. Well worth dragging my tired behind out of bed at 6:00 this morning, even though I was watching the beach volleyball girls till after midnight. (I’ll be glad when Olympics are over.)

I didn’t see them winning either — no offensive firepower. But the defense kicked butt, starting with Hope, and the team as a whole moved and held the ball well. It was just that whenever Brazil finally got the ball, they looked horribly threatening.

I think I want to have Carli Lloyd’s babies.

Oh. Wait.

Oh, P.S? Arrested Development = Best Show Evah. I have the whole thing on DVD and am heartbroken it is no more. Just goes to show that the American people have no taste.

Laurie, they’re making an Arrested Development movie with the original cast. Films/comes out next year, I believe. Bateman spilled the beans on it a while back.
