It Was Really More Of A Whimper
It’s ok. I’m used to losing. I’ve been following the San Jose Earthquakes this season. This morning, in the first six minutes of play, Norway scored twice on the USA. And for the rest of the game, the US couldn’t get it together to fight back. I didn’t watch it BECAUSE I WAS ASLEEP (4am? hell to the no!). Here are your tourney results so far:
Group E:
China 2-1 Sweden
Canada 2-1 ArgentinaGroup F:
Germany 0-0 Brazil
North Korea 1-0 NigeriaGroup G:
Norway 2-0 US
Japan 2-2 New Zealand
It’s early, so our loss isn’t devastating. And I hope this crushing defeat is enough to light a fire in our asses so we take 3 points from Japan on Saturday. I’ll be back with game thoughts… if I ever find a replay.

- If it asks you what your zip & TV provider are… consider lying until it works. They’re trying to enforce licensing.
- Requires installation of Microsoft’s Silverlight.

Thanks EarthquakesFan95060, this Linux user will try to see if the site works for her. I’m 94607 by the way.

now i’m really glad i didn’t wake up at 4 am…it kinda would have ruined the day

Germany, Brazil, and the US all shut out in their first games. Interesting.

How horrible was the referee in the Japan Us game, clear cut penalty, pulled down in the box and he lets it go. The americans looked the poorer side and defended a poor goal that any other goalie would have safely covered. Guzan is the face of america, brutish, arrogant, and his little time wasting antics were despicable.

Just win baby

I’ve got one word for you Melissa — DVR/TiVo.
Can you record any of the games?
And hooray for being in the eastern time zone! Finally I get to see soccer that I care about at a decent hour. It’s like breakfast at Wimbledon, except Olympic soccer instead. Just me, my coffee, and my two small children clamoring for kids’ shows.
